Psychologist Sussi Shannon
Sussi Shannon is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is experienced working with individuals of all ages with various and complex presentations. Sussi works with clients in a collaborative manner, creating individualised treatment plans to suit individual and unique needs, and using a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Sussi has a particular interest in trauma, including its impact on the person as a whole.
Sussi is also skilled in conducting psychological assessments and navigating the complexities of diagnosing various and comorbid disorders. Sussi’s previous experience has included working within the Assessment and Referral Team at the Department of Child Safety, Seniors, and Disability Services (Queensland Government). Her role as Clinician (Psychologist) involved assessing and diagnosing Autism, Intellectual Developmental Disorder (Intellectual Disability), Specific Learning Disorder (SLD; Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), functional capacity, and neurocognitive concerns. This included the preparation and writing of comprehensive and complex reports, including for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Sussi is dedicated to a high standard of practice, whilst fostering a safe, trusting, and neurodiverse affirming environment where clients feel comfortable and empowered.

Psychologist Dr Kirsty Laurie
Aspen Psychology welcomes Dr Kirsty Laurie to our Assessments Team. With a PhD in disability and health and experience across clinical, academic, and community settings, Kirsty brings expertise in supporting individuals with complex needs and disabilities.
Kirsty has a strong interest in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments that provide diagnostic clarity and tailored recommendations to support each client’s unique journey. Her work spans Autism, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, mental health conditions, and neurocognitive concerns.
Kirsty’s approach is compassionate, person-centred, and collaborative – always focused on making assessments meaningful and practical for those involved.
Kirsty has also held leadership roles in mental health, disability, and rehabilitation services, and is deeply committed to improving the accessibility and quality of psychological services. Her passion for service improvement and strategic collaboration makes her an invaluable addition to our team.
